Right on the square in downtown Wimberley you’ll find Kiss The Cook, a one stop kitchen shop filled with culinary wonders. Back in 1998, Brenda Isgitt and her best friend decided to buy the store to share their love of cooking with others. Today Kiss The Cook is a haven for foodies throughout Texas.

Owner Brenda says product knowledge, friendly service and unique product range are some of the main features that drive customers to their store “Whether you’re a novice cook or gourmet chef we have every kitchen gadget to meet your needs. In fact we often have customers tell us that if you can’t find what you’re looking for here, then it doesn’t exist!”

Competing With The Online Giants

With many of the online giants dropping their prices below the suggested MAP, Brenda says that competing directly on price simply isn’t an option at Kiss The Cook. Instead they focus on creating a unique in-store experience that cannot be mirrored online “we like to go that extra mile to make customers feel good about the products we sell, and the time they spend in our store. Our greatest joy is hearing people say, “I love this store!””.

After putting so much effort into creating a great in-store experience, Brenda knew it was time to focus on improving her online presence “Nowadays with so many customers beginning their purchase journey on search engines like Google, we knew we needed to up our online game. We had a website with basic information about our store but none of our products were listed and we certainly weren’t showing up in Google search results. As a result we were losing out on sales to the online giants”.

As a small independent retailer with limited time and resources, Brenda wanted to find a quick and cost effective way to get her unique range of products online and drive more customers to her physical store. That’s when she discovered Pointy “A couple of months ago I attended HTI Buying Group’s One Voice conference in Chicago. Pointy gave a presentation about their service and I got really excited. I signed up that day and received my Pointy device in the mail about a week later. Once I plugged in the device and started scanning products, they began appearing on my Pointy Page almost instantly. There was virtually no work on my part”.

Converting Online Searches Into In-Store Sales

For Brenda, one of the key benefits of Pointy is that it drives customers doing online searches for products they stock to their physical brick & mortar store rather than an e-commerce website “Pointy gives us the ability to leverage our online presence in way that gets more customers into our store. We’ve worked very hard to create a unique in-store experience and it’s great to be able to share that with even more customers.”

Brenda says Pointy has been a huge asset to her in building a continuously updated online profile for Kiss The Cook with ease and little cost “Pointy is the very best way to compete for the customers who are searching online for products that you sell. This little device will bring them right to your door!”
