Metro by T-Mobile (formerly known as MetroPCS and also simply known as Metro) is an American prepaid virtual wireless service provider and brand owned by T-Mobile US. It previously operated the fifth largest mobile telecommunications network in the United States using code-division multiple access (CDMA).

Metro by T-Mobile is T-Mobile's prepaid brand and uses T-Mobile's 5G network. While the company does have lower-priced data-capped plans (2 GB and 10 GB of data a month) available, Metro by T-Mobile's featured plans offer unlimited calling, texting, and high-speed data.

MetroPCS, which was acquired in 2013, is now a registered trademark of T-Mobile USA, Inc. Metro serves as an alternative to major networks such as Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, but because it operates on the T-Mobile network, users still have access to comprehensive nationwide coverage.

Can I take advantage of T-Mobile promotions if I move from Metro? Yes, Metro customers moving to T-Mobile qualify for service, device and other promotions as long as they meet the eligibility requirements for that promotion.
